In August, Andrew Albury hiked part of the 223 km Larapinta Trail over five days to raise much-needed funds for GingerCloud Foundation as part of Trek4Inclusion. The Larapinta Trail follows the West MacDonnell Ranges and is one of the world’s finest multi-day walking adventures.
GingerCloud Foundation is an inclusive community of young people with autism and learning and perceptual disabilities. GingerCloud endeavours to remove the barriers experienced by young people with autism so they can live their best lives.
Funds raised from this challenge will help GingerCloud expand its world-first Modified Rugby Program, where players can experience the thrill of playing rugby, often for the first time. The foundation also offers a number of other programs providing leadership training, work experience, and disability inclusion.
Andrew raised $7,875 toward his team’s total of $63,000 (at the time of writing) to support GingerCloud’s initiatives.
Here is a selection of photos from the hike.
